We got the fantastic opportunity to go to Shasta Lake with our friend's family this year. Unfortunately Daddy couldn't come. We had a blast.
We stopped at an R.V park on the way up where James swam his very first unassisted lap of the pool.
The kiddos talked to Daddy & told him of our adventures. We had no cell coverage so talks to Daddy we few and far between.
Then we got to the lake and set up camp.
Throwing rocks was a huge hit...who knew - rocks and water could happily occupy kids for extended amounts of time as well as small inflatable boats and scooters.
The kids also enjoyed trips out in the "big" boat helping to hold the ski flag and watching everyone ski.
Mommy skied, it was the 2nd time in my life and my first time on a single ski - after a few awesome falls I got the hang of it.We swam in the lake...
James even got to drive the boat! Slow and safe but HE was drivin'!
Piper almost Always fell asleep in the boat - and she loved sitting at the front even though it was really bumpy.Tubing was the absolute highlight of the trip - the kids would Laugh and Laugh the faster and crazier we went.
You kinda have to squint but we did catch a frog and he was our pet for about 24-hours but we came to the joint conclusion that since we couldn't catch him any food the best idea was to let him go.
James gave Skiing a shot but got a little discouraged when it "wasn't as easy as it looked" but we'll give it a try next year. Isn't he cute with those skis on...
We also went on a great hike to a cave - it was a bit difficult for the 3-year old and then was a little more difficult carrying a 3-year old but it was worth it.
The kiddos loved exploring the caves, James was the perfect size to crawl through the little openings.
Piper found a HUGE dandelion and made a wish...(she wished for bubble gum...shhh don't tell)
We spent a lot of time in the boat, on the water and overall just having fun.
Each of the kids had a Husky to love for the week.
We had a fun trip home with Cindy - she's fantastic.
We had a great trip but we were So Happy to be Home!
