James' Haircut

Ever since we got a picture of Steve with his hair cut in his Uniform James has been asking for a hair cut.  So, I finally gave in….

Great Park

Shari and I took Drew and Piper to the Great Park in Irvine.  We got there right when it opened and got boarding passes for the Balloon Ride

Piper was excited to get on the Balloon

and got even more excited when we started going up

 She and Drew were fascinated by the view

Oh…Snow White came too…

The ride down and landing were a little bumpy to say the least (we were the only ride of the day due to the wind).

They also have a Carousel which Piper and Drew loved it was not crowded so we rode it!

 They also have a cute little park that the kiddos had a good time running around playing in.

  We had a fantastic day at the Great Park!

Park Day

We had to be out of our house for a little while so the owners could do a walk through.  It was the perfect excuse to stop putting off the over promised trip to the park…the "Ladybug Park" is Piper's favorite.  We had a great time and really enjoyed being just the two of us.

100th Day of School - Hat Parade

Today was James' 100th Day of School! The Kindergartners had a hat parade to mark the occasion.  We made James' hat last week.  100 pom-poms and 23 pipe cleaners later he had one crazy hat.

Treasure Box!!

James has been having a rough time adjusting to what is and what is not appropriate school behavior this year.  I wouldn't describe him as having a behavior problem but it has been a concern.  Everyday his name will end up on one of 5 levels, Oops (note sent home), Warning, Good Day, Wow! and the elusive "Treasure Box".  He has had a lot of "good days" and "Wow!s" and some "Warnings" and a number of "Ooops" but never "Treasure Box" - that is... Until Today!! 


James' name finally made it up and Stayed on "Treasure Box" so as promised for a treat we took him for Ice Cream...

Lil' Red's Cupcake Shop - February 2011

A new cupcake shop called Lil' Red's opened in downtown Huntington Beach and the kiddos love it!! The cupcakes are so yummy and the store is adorable.
